SeW AloNG Quilt Day Retreat Weekend...
Yes.. It's a Sew Along.. Quilt Day.. RETREAT weekend! I will have giveaways, we'll be sharing what we are working on, and I hope some charity quilts are completed over the three days.
What's better than THREE days of fun with quilting friends! Just like a 'in person' retreat we want to hear what snacks you have.. where you went shopping... see your project 'in progress'. All that GOOD STUFF.
And I Created a BUTTON for you to put on your blog.. or print onto a quilt label if you like!
Right click and save the button to your computer. The put it on your blog, in your emails, on your labels. If it is in your blog or email... have it link here to my blog so people can join the fun! Once you have the button on your blog, put a comment below with your blog addy so we can see it!!
my blog addy is http://patsloan.typepad.com/
The retreat starts Friday after work.. MY work.. LOL! So Eastern time zone that is after 6:00pm. But you can start collecting goodies and be ready.. being ready is a GOOD plan!
Prizes will be announced here on the blog. But I'll chatter here AND on the yahoo group.. with 3 breaks on Saturday to hook up with my Second Life quilt group. (what's that you ask? See yesterday post right below us).
And What will we be making? I'm hoping LOTS Of quilts for Charity. Vickie is going to help you with suggestions for patterns if you need help. Or suggestions of where to send finished quilts. Yeah Vickie!
I think on the retreat you should also make something for yourself. How about a little totebag and needlecase. Perfect to carry one project or a bunch of books you are reading! We will use a pattern by Cindy Taylor Oates on the APQ website for the bag. I'll be posting a applique for it on the 15th.
Click here to get totebag requirements....
And Click here for the needlecase. I designed this one for McCall's quilting. I'll give you a new applique for the cover, or use this one if you like it!
Don't want to make a tote or needlecase? Then use the applique do to a table runner of a little wall hanging. It will be THAT flexible!
Print off the directions now in case the site is busy on quilt day .. or heaven forbid down for some reason!
And.. just for fun... I'll do a short video showing you how EASY it is to add beads! So be sure you have some on hand... the packs I carry are beautiful. Buy HERE on the NOTIONS page. I have a book on beading too.. buy that HERE
Ready for this?? I am!

OMG, how cute is that pattern.....I'm thinking I need a tote or a HUGE pincushion made from that pattern using woolfelt....although now that I see it coming out of the printer, a cute wallhanging might just be the ticket. Think I'll trace the pattern pieces and then decide...

I put your button on one of my blogs, Pat. It is not linked yet, but I added a link in my text. My blogs were a new venture for 2008. I started off well, got waylaid soon after, and now you have given me a jumpstart to continue.
Thanks for the great projects... I am looking forward to the sew along retreat!

Thanks Pat! This weekend sounds fabulous! I have it on my calendar and will sew as mucha as I can. I've wanted to begin a charity quilt using strings. This will be a great opportunity. I love the little tote bag. I need a new lunch bag for work. I've printed the pattern, purchased the interfacing. Now just to decide on the fabric.
I'll add the button to my blog tonight. It's time to leave for work:)
Thanks again for all that you do for us!
