I've said the same as all of you: I won't make a selvage quilt! And how will I get to all my other ideas? So, I made some selvage pot holders and pin cushions-those are really cute, with a button in the middle.
Now, I've visited the Mashup and everyone is so enthusiastic, maybe I will begin to cut selvages off my older fabrics. I buy 1/4 and 1/3 yd. cuts, and not too much new fabric in a year, so my quilt will take a long time.
But it's all fun, and that's important.

You'll be hooked for sure! I want to send you a better pic of my FINISHED blue zinger later today, but for now; did you see this post? I think some might find it pretty handy.

I'm in ... have two drawers full of gorgeous selvages just waiting to be used ... I've already made one selvage quilt (Garcia - on side bar of Karen's blog) and have long planned another ... now it is time! Welcome to Selvage-Land!

Jill

Count me in! I recently finished a black and white selvage zinger quilt top that is at my LQS waiting to be quilted on the longarm. I have enough selvages collected again that I am working on a set of selvage placemats, and am just starting to work on some selvage neck roll pillows!

Kari

You too huh! I started saving what I used to call the "trash" of the fabric. I am resisting making anything with them. Maybe I will send mine to you! ;)

Funny girl-I can't believe you got sucked into it too!

I've been keeping selvages for about 3 years....made my first project (a tote bag) this summer.....I've started another wall hanging using them but have put it on the back burner for a few weeks. They are addicting......And aren't you the lucky one....you have selvages with your name on them......

Karen

Bari

I can't help but to laugh at this post....I started saving selvages this summer! and had said I never would.

I EVEN announced at my guild meeting last night that anyone who wanted to see their selvages put to good use could start saving them for me! I'm sick...I just know it....I think a lot of us have been infected. This is more contagious than swine flu...

Bari

Jennifer

Those quilts are amazing! I can't even imagine what my husband would say if he saw me collecting selvages too. :)

Mary C

OH no, I'm still making a BIG ol' ball out of mine. I have a pile to sew together too, but Keep just adding to the piles... Then I can say 'she with the biggest selvage ball wins!'
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

kathy

The selvages are reallllly pretty when you keep them in a see thru jar.....and now I can finally use them instead of looking at them. Can't wait to get started!!

Judy Knorr

Be careful of Cherrywood hand dyed fabrics. I set my fabrics with Synthrapol and followed all washing directions and still the dye ran on my son's wedding quilt. I cried!!

Kelly Ann

O'No you did not jump into the selvage zombie land....I will not go there and you can't make me even though those quilts are so stinkin' cute....no, you can't make me...no, no, no....well guess I'll wait and see what you end up doing...no, you can't make me....okay I'll watch with an open mind....but you can't make me....

pat sloan

hehe... come on... you can do it.. it's just ONE QUILT... I resisted a long time but want this red zinger and the strips ARE quick you know... just saying!

Monica

OMG!! No Pat NO! I've saved a few...then I immediately gave them away to Lina and Ann! And I will continue to do so....how many "collections" can we have?

Margi Borck

oh tell me YOU ARE NOT! You know whatever you do I have to do, oh my goodness,,,,please don't make me do it. Bad, bad trend setter you are! LOL
