Pat Sloan's Creative Talk Radio - Show 8

Today I two guests. First up is Susan Brubaker Knapp, the incredibly multi-talented designer of Blue Moon River Co.

Susan and I have gotten to know each other through Facebook (YEAH!). She is one of those people that I feel I've known forever... we just click!

Susan has a super cool blog where she shares her thoughts on designing, shares things she finds and introduces us to other people who we are sure to love!

One of the interesting things about Susan is that she works in 'Two Worlds' of quilting. She started out in very traditional quilt making and still does this, teaches it and her newest book reflects this love of tradition with a twist.

But Susan ALSO creates in very contemporary one of kind quilts. With lots of interesting surface work and these she sells or does on commission.

Today we'll learn how she Balances those 2 worlds...

I'm REALLY excited to hear this segment!

In the last Segment I asked Pokey to stay on and tell us about her different publications, show.. etc. She has so many awesome projects going on!  While we were emailing for the show she was out of town taping new TV segments!

Thanks Pat for another great radio show! I too love being able to listen to them at anytime especially sewing time. What two very creative gals (Susan & Pokey)! I am going to check out their websites. It is always nice to hear that more than one project going on is OK. I have quite a few. And that trying something and it not quite turning out the way you thought it would or should is OK too and I don't have to feel bad about it but move on and learn from that experience. And who knew you could use Knox gelatin for fabric designing? Wow!! Thanks again Pat for having this radio show with great guests to help inspire us along in our quilting journeys.

I have watched quilting arts on PBS but was not familiar with Susan's work. I like hearing about the backgrounds of the quilter and how they work. Plus the jello story by Pokey was hilarious.
