Blog Hops- Last Day of Rulers - Decorations - Lucky charms!

So I promised to tell you about my SECOND First Quilt.

As you read on some of the other blogs.. many of these gals DID go on to quilt after their first quilt.. it did not hold them back!

But I did not. It was MANY years before I thought of quilts again. I sewed clothing and maybe some curtains.

Then my friend Gwen told me I NEEDED to learn to quilt as I would SO enjoy it. She also sewed

She also knew how to quilt already.

So off to the local quilt shop we went... where I could NOT decided if I REALLY wanted to cut up little pieces of fabric and make other stuff.

Perusing their class list I saw a class on

MINATURES... yes MINATURES!

Hey.. this was for me! I would make something small and not spend a lot of money.. same thoughts as Amanda Jean... I didn't want to buy the tools unless I really liked making this!

I bought the 2 Fat Quarters from the sale bin (as I didn't own any cotton).. as I recall they were mighty ugly FQS!  I took the class, made the little 9-patch and gave it to my niece for her baby dolls!

Yes... I do think I might JUST like this quilting thing... maybe... we'll see....

So Mom.. Did we Decorate for Fall?

The decorations were almost all home/school made by you kids and always put up as you brought them home, I do not remember that we had many holiday decorations except Christmas that we bought at the store.

awww..... sweet eh? 

Kiddie decorations are the best!

But we ALL know Halloween is now the biggest decorating season of them all... or very close!

I have a SMALL candy corn obsession..

did you see the lotion bottle in the top photo?

now I need to make that first project from Gudruns!
