Some Additional Sewing tips from YOU yesterday!
One thing I do is try to have my needle threaded and knot at the end so can just pick it up and hand sew. Otherwise, if have the 5 minutes and am antsy cannot thread that needle. You can baste several hexagons in a few minutes if ready.    * Commenter name: Marcia

.....I try to sew a step or two in the process, what ever it is, and the last step readies for the next step, ie: sew seams, take out pins, then it's ready for pressing or pin and set up for the next step, that takes 5 mins then ready for the sewing step, that can take 5 - 15 mins, then you're ready all over again! And, it's important to be in the moment, not kick yourself for past mistakes or live in the future too much so you don't enjoy today! Take care,     * Commenter name: Leslie

MY tip is for those, like me, that feel guilty sewing if the house needs a little cleaning. I set my timer for 15 minutes and clean house until the timer goes off. Then I sew. Sometimes if I have a quilt to quilt but would rather work on pieceing a new one. I set the timer for an hour and piece the enw one then an hour to quilt. Things get done more consistantly that way.    * Commenter name: Jewel

What works best for me is to make a commitment that I will tidy up for just 5 minutes each day when I finish in my sewing room and to get things organized for the next time. It's amazing what I can get done in 5 minutes! It makes a huge mental difference to know I can go into my sewing room and set down and immediately get started on my project. My other tip? Stay away from the computer. I can't say that I'm practicing what I'm preaching with this one though!    * Commenter name: Jackie
