I had a GREAT time at Quilt Market introducing George to customers and working with the APQS sales team. I also had meetings with lots of other people I work with, touched base with all my friends (but got very little time to visit!), and made new friends too.. fun fun!

This was my 'home away from home' during the show. We were RIGHT outside the ladies room.. so lots of visitors... hehe!

I was able to find some REALLY high quality SOFT poly rick rack. I picked up 5 new colors in light Teal, Grape, Buttercup, PinkTulips, and the RIGHT Olive Green for stems!! All the 1/2" size. Find them at the store page- CLICK HERE to the STORE

I'm currently working on a new video, finishing up book photography with Leisure Arts, starting a new book, drawing a new fabric line, designing a new Block of the Month for the fall fabric line, and I have a few pattern ideas floating about ... but nothing is ready to release. So I found a few patterns by my friends to share with you!

I adore Barbara Brandeburg's work. She showed us these projects in progress on her blog. So it was GREAT fun to be able to get the patterns for you. My favorite is that rick rack throw.. I SO want to make that!! In addition to the pillows, and main quilt, she also has directions on how to decorate the bedspread AND how to make that rick rack on the edge of the flower quilt. Fun fun! Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend

I've decided I MUST make a diamond quilt. This one is in progress and the blue one is all pieced! I used this diamond template for FAST cutting. You cut strips (these are the largest) and then subcut with the template. FAST!

Travel Highlights

I've just added an event in Colorado Springs CO at High Country Quilts! I'm flying to a few events this year and this is the first. I don't get out west often, so I REALLY hope you can get over to the shop to either meet me Friday morning... and/or take a workshop Friday afternoon or Saturday.

I'll be there THIS JUNE 6 and 7 for a machine quilting event sponsored by 'George's parents APQS and my crooked cabin workshop on Saturday!

Thoughts and A Quote

May Day always slips by me.. so this year I'll just celebrate it the WHOLE MONTH!  Sounds like a good plan to me. And what exactly IS May Day? Like anything you go and research, it has many meanings.  Wiki has a good number of them HERE

But I like this one...
"May Day was also celebrated by some early European settlers of the American continent. In some parts of the US, May Baskets are made. These baskets are small and usually filled with flowers or treats and left at someone's doorstep. When you ring the bell, you are supposed to run away. The person receiving the basket would try to catch the person running away. If they caught the person, a kiss was to be exchanged."  How fun is THAT!
