I have a passion for creating and quilts are my medium.
I'm quilt designer and book author, radio/podcast show host and fabric designer Pat Sloan! Thank you for stopping in, I can't wait to get to know you.
I started sewing as a child (love those doll clothes!) and I continued to sew clothing for myself until I discovered quilting. I've been quilting now for over 20 years. But I made my first 'first quilt' way before that! CLICK HERE to read about it

I soon started teaching and then I created my own company
to put my quilt ideas into self published patterns.
I run my own design business called Pat Sloan & Company with my husband Gregg (the Shipping Department). We are located in Fairfax County, Virginia.
I start out my designs by drawing them in note pads
Then I move them into the computer.
What I have found is that I really enjoy sharing what I do. I really love to see what other quilters do with my patterns. The shipping department and I have spent the last 19 years traveling across the country teaching and giving talks. It was a lot of fun!
Now I teach at my online neighborhood at Facebook, and at my youtube.
My fabric lines are with the amazing Benartex fabric!
And in the past I designed several fabric lines with P&B Textiles and with Moda Fabrics.
My Books are published with Martingale!
In the past I published with Leisure arts.

In addition to publishing my own patterns, I design patterns for all the major quilt magazines. Like American Patchwork & Quilting, McCall's Quilting, McCall's Quick Quilts, Quilters World, Quilting Arts, and the Fons and Porter magazines.
My other great passion is hosting sew alongs and doing my Fireside chat videos! Every Monday is a new fireside chat.

Thread- For my machine work I use Aurifil 50 and 40 weight threads. I love them for Blanket Stitching, piecing and quilting.

Pat Sloan designer, author, lecturer, and with her weekly radio show... Pat truly is the "Voice of Quilting". She has a deep passion for making quilting fun for herself and everyone around her. Pat loves to hang out with quilters on the internet as well as visit you in person.. be inspired to get more done!
Sewing since she was a child and quilting for over 20 years, Pat eventually looked to her craft as a business. After a few years quilting she started to teach quilt making to others and then turned her skills to pattern designing. She found that she really enjoys designing and seeing how other quilters made her patterns. In 2000 Pat's designs became so popular that she and her husband Gregg formed a design and publishing company called Pat Sloan & Co. In addition to designing and publishing her work, they now travel around the country teaching and showing her quilts to quilt guilds and quilt shops. Also, Pat has had her designs published in all the national magazines, she has written 31 quilt books and has designed many lines of fabric for Moda Fabrics.
When Pat took her passion to the internet she built several quilt communities, the largest is her group on Facebook with over 41,000 quilters from around the world.
Over Five years ago started a weekly All Quilting radio/podcast. You can hear her interview quilt celebrities, historians, designers and authors from around the world, all on your computer! All the podcasts are available for download.
